La Source Body Lotion
I am a marine junkie, I love the sea and everything in it, so I had to try out Crabtree & Evelyn’s La Source body lotion. Not only does it have a fresh scent reminiscent of the seaside, it has a blend of anti-oxidant-rich green seaweed extract and nourishing blue sea kale. It’s fortified with vitamin E, Shea Butter, and glycerin all of which are known to be excellent for the skin.
With all this good stuff packed in I was expecting a heavy lotion but it’s as light as whipped cream, and just a smooth. It glides on the skin easily and absorbs quickly leaving no sticky or tacky residue. I found the scent to be a bit overpowering at first but it quickly toned down as it absorbed into my skin and what was left was a hint of musk, citrus, and sea. As the day went on I found myself sniffing my arms just to catch another whiff of the intoxicating yet subtle fragrance.
As a moisturiser, it does what it is meant to, keeping my skin hydrated and silky all day long. This was the first time I tried the La Source range and it won’t be my last. I loved the seaside scent, the quick absorption, and the lasting positive effects on my skin. It’s a great choice for the summer months as its light both in texture and fragrance Try it for yourself next time you are in town and passing the shop on Hanover Street, you won’t be disappointed.
Gardeners Hand Therapy
My favourite Crabtree & Evelyn product is the Gardeners Hand Therapy, hands down (see what I did there?). I have been using this cream off and on for around 15 years and I keep coming back to it. There are lots of fantastic hand creams out there but Gardeners Hand Therapy has the perfect combination of a wonderful scent, great texture, and lasting results.
My hands get terribly dry and chapped in the winter. This is one of the few products that starts to heal them after only a few applications. It does not irritate my sensitive cracked skin, it seems to protect it. The cream itself is thick and smooth. It does not absorb fully into the skin like lighter lotions but I think that’s part of what makes it so nourishing and protective. The fragrance is earthy and herby, I adore it. While this cream might be too heavy for some, or at least in the summer, it is a winter handbag essential for me.
West Indian Lime Cologne
The description for this colognes reads “ What if you weren’t living in the city but were instead a seafaring captain plotting a course through the Caribbean isles?”. Clearly, this was a cologne I needed to try. For me this, Crabtree & Evelyn’s West Indian Lime is like a Barbershop in a bottle, evoking an old world Victorian vibe. It’s light, fruity, fresh scent is underscored by hints of spice and musk. It smells exotic with a blast of fresh lime that lingers throughout the day, perfect for the longer nights of summer. It has great longevity lasting all day, especially if you layer it up by using the aftershave balm also available in the range. Excellent value fragrance at only £32 for a 100ml bottle.
Lavender and Espresso Hand Cream
Having recently completed some kitchen renovations I was seeking a stylish new hand cream to sit alongside my new kitchen accessories. Being a big Crabtree & Evelyn fan I jumped at the chance to try this product out. I wanted a product with beautiful packaging and this fit the bill. With its promises to sooth and restore, the Lavender & Espresso Calming Hand Therapy did not disappoint. This was very much needed after many hours of DIY!
This deeply hydrating cream helps bring tired hands back to life, with its blend of macadamia seed oil and shea butter sinking perfectly into your skin. The smallest application really does revive tired hands with the soft scents of lavender blending beautifully with the invigorating coffee undertones. I liked this hand lotion so much I’ll be buying the hand wash as well – they will look great side by side on the kitchen windowsill!
